District 55 created the S.O.C.L.L.umpire association one year before the District 55 split (2004). Since then, District 55 has offered an open-door policy for any umpire who wishes to work at the tournament level, either from District 68 (result of the split) or any other district. The S.O.C.L.L. association simply helps to ensure continuity among all of the recommended umpires within the District 55 program with regard to training, and of course the wearing of the S.O.C.L.L. patch. If you would like to umpire for District 55, please contact District 55's Doug Williams or Duane Cave, for more information. There are no dues; we simply ask that you attend the Meeting at the Plate gatherings held each season in March and April, as well as the pre-tournament Umpire BBQ held in May.
D55/SOCLL officials wear the Honig's Black jersey, as well as the Honig's Polo Blue jersey.
