Megans Law

California's Megan's Law provides the public with certain information on the whereabouts of sex offenders so that members of our local communities may protect themselves and their children.

In an effort to protect the children of the program, Little League Baseball, Inc. requires that all volunteers in the program surrender to a background check

REMINDER:
National background checks are required for all volunteers providing repititve service to the league. If in doubt, check them out!!!

ChoicePoint.com

Little League Baseball has contracted with ChoicePoint to provide local leagues with a special internet site that allows members to search a national database of more than 170 million criminal records - instantly. The background checks on ChoicePoint meet requirements set forth in Regulation I (c) of the Little League Official Regulations and Playing Rules for all states except Hawaii and South Dakota.

District ASAP Policy
Little League approved Safety Plans are required from each league in District 55. Plans must be in hard copy form, with an electronic version included in the package. Safety Plans should be mailed to the District Safety Officer for preliminary review by December 31, 2007 (email Chuck Williamson for mailing address) via certified-return-receipt mail. Any plans that are rejected must undergo the appropriate corrections and be re-submitted to the District Safety Officer at the February 12, 2008 President's meeting. DO NOT mail your final plan to the District 55 address or to Little League Baseball, Inc.
All final plans must be submitted in person to the District Safety Officer!

Injury Reporting Procedures

An injury requiring ANY medical attention should be reported to the local League Safety Officer. Only the League Safety Officer or the League President should report an accident or injury to the District. Parents, managers, coaches, and spectators MUST report injuries directly to the local League's Safety Officer. Reports submitted to the District 55 Safety Officer that are submitted by parents, managers, coaches, and spectators will be returned.

Don't let this happen to ANY child. If you see a bat swinging outside of the playing field, stop it before someone is seriously injured. It is your duty as an adult!!!

HEARTSTART Defibrillators

Available without a prescription, the OnSite is designed to be the easiest-to-use, and most reliable defibrillator available. Using clear, natural voice instructions, the OnSite Defibrillator guides you through each step of defibrillation and CPR.

It is the District 55 policy to advise any league that should they choose to implement an AED program, the league must do so in accordance with the regulations set forth by the State of California and the Orange County Emergency Medical Services (more details).
